GM Cotter Pin Sizes

For a lower ball joint cotter pin, does 3.2mm x 45mm sound about right to you? That equates to 1/8" x 1-3/4" American size.

On my 2003 Silverado, the catalog says it takes p/n 11609927 which has notes stating:
Part NotesPIN, COTTER, 3.2X45, SAE 1008 STL,GMW3044 ALL MODELS ALL YEARS 3.2X45, SAE 1008.

This is for the upper and lower.

I simply use one that fits, all its for is to stop the nut from coming loose. Never had a problem, even using a smaller diameter one.

But like @Exhaustgases said, I use what fits. I have one of the collections from somewhere and will have it next to me when I know I need one and match up what fits the tightest.
