I've been wet shaving for decades and I've been through all of the different blades and carts. These some of my findings;
Carts with more than 2 blades are pretty much just a gimmick, with the exception of the Mach 3. That gives a decent shave. Anything with 4 or more blades is just a waste of time and money.
Any kind of shave cream or gel that comes in a can is easily bested by creams such as Kiss My Face, Cremo, or Proraso, or Soaps such as Tabac or Arko. These are just a few products and there are many, many more available that are all superior to canned products.
I get my best shaves using either a DE or my Atra handle with these carts:

I get just as close and comfortable a shave with these as I do using DE razors, but they're more convenient to use. Also, they are so inexpensive, I use them once and throw them away. Why not use a fresh blade every time you shave? These carts are every bit as good as the genuine Gillette carts, but far less expensive.
I have tried the DSC carts (the 2 and 4 blade carts) and I didn't like either of them. As someone mentioned earlier, they are made by Dorco. BTW, you can buy Dorco carts and see for yourself they are the same exact carts. I did, and I didn't care for those either. DSC is a good thing though because it's cutting into Gillette's market. If you can use their blades, good for you!
I'm tempted to try Harry's as they supposedly have better quality blades.
Gillette is just throwing a hissy fit because these companies are cutting into their profits...maybe they'll wise up and stop charging $30+ for a pack of carts that probably cost them $2 or $3 to produce, but I doubt it...without price gouging, there's goes their big profits!
