Ghosts...

Everyone so quick to dismiss and mock what they don't understand because science can't prove it. Maybe not being able to prove it is the point.... How meaningful is it if there isn't an effort on your part?

I once worked a night security job in a building that was haunted. There was no other logical explanation for the stuff going on in an empty, locked building at night. Example: the sudden appearance and disappearance of cigarette smoke, wild temperature changes, chairs being moved as if by the Invisible Man, and such.

I do not think that ghosts are necessarily intelligent or are actally dead people. That would not be in accordance with my religion. They may simply be reflections in space-time of past reality. No more a dead person than a photograph is, even though they can interact with us.

That's the point, there's only so much time that each of us have. Why waste time on the meaningless? Do you investigate all the ravings of a mad homeless person on the street? Do you realize that about 18% of the population has some type of mental illness? And about 4% of the population has serious mental illness? That might explain a lot....

This part of your statement can be taken a couple of ways. I guess it just depends on what one deems meaningful.
Is where you spend eternity meaningful?

Does eternity exist? It's an interesting theory, but even weaker than ghosts. Proof?

Look up the heat death of the universe. Even the universe isn't eternal.

Just depends on what one chooses to believe. One chooses to believe and spends eternity in paradise. One chooses to not believe and either gets eternity in a pit or nothing happens at all. Who is the one that ultimately loses the gamble?

The one who loses is the one who cannot realize that the paradise and the pit are both only ever *here and now*; both constructs of the mind.

If I chose to believe and in the end, I'm wrong, I lose nothing. If you choose not to believe and you are wrong, what have you lost?

You've lost a lot of time you could have spent doing something else. And how do you know you've picked the right one? After all, none of them have proof and there are so many of them. If you choose to believe that which has proof, how is there any lost? There's nothing wrong with not believing in something without proof. The same can't be said for the reverse.

So what comes after that?

And what was before the big bang?... and this massive chunk of Everything that went bang, expanded and was/is the raw material for the universe ... and is still expanding... what was outside the perimeter of this massive chunk of Everything before it exploded? And what made it explode? Why wouldn't it just continue to remain in stasis indefinitely?

I'm starting to think that Elon Musk's theory that we're not biological beings at all but simply sentient entries of AI super code in a massive Alien game of The Sims, makes as much sense when considering the big bang theory and all it's flaws.

They are still working on perfecting it. It's still just a theory. Even when Einstein came up with his equations, it had implications for black holes, but they weren't actually discovered til years later.

In theory after the heat death of the universe, nothing happens. The energy state is so low that you can't even have a clock keep track of time as that would require a higher energy level.

The simulation idea has always been interesting, but real life seems to be way more complex than a simulation.

You have questions. The answers are just unknown at this stage. Lots of people can't seem to deal with that and make up their own.

You'll find out when you pass on ... and if there is nothing there, well I guess you won't know any different so it won't matter.

Per the laws of Physics, energy can not be created or destroyed ... only changed in it's state. Known as the "conservation of energy".

Read up on people's description of their near death experiences ... I doubt they are all "imagining" it. Where you might go after you die has nothing to do with what "religion" you believe or don't believe in. It has to do with what the human spirit does when you die.

Did you read about the heat death? It's just following the second law of thermodynamics. It's just moving to a lower state. Even protons may decay. Eventually the entire universe will reach a temperature so low that you can't even measure time, no further work can be done.

Yeah, that's known as entropy - basically, energy tries to dissipate/spread out from a high state to a lower state, but the total energy is still there, but just spread out much more. It just means all the energy in the universe will spread out evenly over a vert long time, and the end result is still a very low temperature overall, but the total energy is still there.

That's why I believe that when you die, you will go to a higher plane and a lot of questions/unknowns you had here will be realized. At least that's how it should be.

You can believe whatever you feel like, but that doesn't make it true.

That's basic Agnosticism. Why spend 70 mortal years figuring out what you'll eventually have infinite years to do with better research access?

And if you don't, you didn't waste time.
