Ok all you southern BITOG members, are you ready for the snowstorm coming? How about ya'll in Texas?

I'm suprised by this one...it is sure happing in a weird direction.
Here we are expecting up to 7 inches and a few random flurries in the next 48 hours, starting tonight. Its supposed to be super cold to, so it ain't gonna melt no time soon!

Oh yeah,, here in Atlanta they started announcing school closings on the Saturday evening news. We're expecting 2"-4" in my area which is a blizzard for this part of the country. The best part of all,,, it's going to hit right at the Monday morning rush hour traffic.

We've staffed the airport in order to have personnel on hand and of course my company secures hotel rooms near the airport for both passengers and employees at times like this. I'll leave work tonight at 6:30 PM and be home snuggled in my bed before the first flake appears.

We got about 4 inches in Eastern TN, and it is 4 degrees F outside right now.

gotta chuckle at the stores being cleaned out and panic because of some snow and ice but I realize its out of the ordinary and they dont have the equipment. Six inches is just another storm here

Keep safe, people!

It's funny to us northern folks how southern folks react around ice and snow. Considering that many cars down there run summer tires year-round, have tires worn to the cords, and don't own ice scrapers, it's no laughing matter. Not having plows/sanders makes it even worse.

It's absolute insanity when snow is predicted here. Back in my youth I'd use a cassette case to scrape my windows but these days I don't even have that around. Maybe I can stick a old trash bag under my wipers to keep the snow and ice off the glass.

Stories of 17" of snow and -17ºF make me glad this 'once every ten year' event is going to be over in two days.

It was 20 Below when I went out Ice Fishing on Lake of the Woods yesterday - I love it!

Caught lots of Walleyes through 32" of ice!!

It's supposed to get cold here Wednesday and Thursday next week, highs at 60 and 61, lows at night near 40. No mention of any snow in the forecast though.

I feel bad for those who will get freezing temps and snow when they are not used to it and are not prepared for it. Personally I don't know how to drive in snow and God willing, I will never have to learn.

We do get an occasional freezing cold front here, and when we do get frost or ice in the morning I use a plastic kitchen spatula for an ice scraper. I went to Autozone yesterday and bought a few things I need and after searching the store, I did ask for an ice scraper. They don't sell them there.

You've been eatin good I bet!

Remember a credit card will scrape frost, and thin ice if you let the defroster run a few minutes.

about 4" predicted here. I'm going to travel to Kroger tonight just to see if there's any milk and bread on the shelves.

Amazing how stores sell out of these two items down here with the threat of snow.

"IF" it snows enough I plow my driveway and the road I live on. After the snow we had a couple weeks ago the county never plowed or treated the ice on my road despite it being traveled heavily after christmas with people hauling their trash to the convenience center. If we get enough accumulation this time I will plow the mile or so to the convenience center.

Milk, bread and eggs. My boss typically points this out, it's his theory that everyone weathers the big snow storm by making french toast.

You forgot toilet paper.

4.5 feet of snow fell in West Seneca, NY about a month ago.. That has been it for significant snow fall so far this winter.

My back door was snowed in, and still is a month later..

I shoveled for about ten hours, then walked to the local quick-e-mart for beer.

Time to move south, I've had it!
