Like the title says which gasket brand do you prefer? I usually buy Fel-Pro's even though their a bit more in price. On the Festiva's a common repair is the valve cover gasket. The Fel-Pro gasket from my experience seems to be the longest lasting. Bought a off-brand once and it only lasted a year at the most, wish I could remember that brand. About to attempt a oil pan gasket on the same vehicle.. defiantely want to get it right the first time. I notice the Beck/Arnley gaskets are a few bucks cheaper than Fel-Pro's. Can't help to wonder if their just as good as the Fel-Pro's? Haven't read any negative on the web.

Fel-Pro, they often include OEM improvements and thier own improvements to common gasket problems specific to your application.

Good luck

Cometic!!

I guess for me it depends on what im building, but I really like cometic gaskets. They can be difficult to get and for most applications felpro will work fine.

Depends on the fix, but for everyday repairs of head gaskets and GM LIM gaskets, only Fel-Pro.

Aftermarket gaskets are often improved/better than the factory ones.
Fel Pro is usually very high quality.
You may still need a dab of silicone RTV here and there even with a good gasket. Even factories do this at problem spots in corners.

If I end up having to change out the intake gasket on the 3800 in the Park Avenue, I will insist that the mechanic use a Fel-Pro.

Well from the way it looks need to stick with Fel Pro.. although I wasn't planning on using anything else. Some things are just worth the added expense.

Fel-Pro for domestic and Elring for German
For GM 3800 LIM only the new GM aluminum frame gaskets GM PN# 89017816.
Fel-Pro is still selling the obsolete second design plastic frame version.
