Anyone notice that Pennzoil YP jugs actually are 5 quarts.A friend that owed me some $,I ask him to get me two gallons of Pennzoil ($10.50 at Walmart) thinking it was a gallon. The truck hold 6qts.But the container says it's 5qts.While the GTX I use in the car are gallon containers. Also the jugs are a better valus compared if you buy the quarts.

YB PZ used to be available in 6qt jugs not that long ago. The local Autozone had those in 10w-40 flavor a year or two ago on close out. Has anyone seen those 6qt jugs recently?

It seems that most oils come in 4 quart jugs at most stores. Walmart seems to be the exception in that you typically (but not always) get 5 quart jugs of most oils, it varies by brand.

Hey, What the heck. We got a young man on this site that keeps calling those 5 GALLON jugs.
WalMart has 5 Qt, everyone else has 4 Qt. 6 Qt jugs are long gone.

My car takes 4 quarts so the 5 quart containers are a nuisance for me. It used to just be a wal-mart thing but I've noticed them at AutoZone as well.

Seems like every oil jug but diesel oil comes in five quart jugs at Walmart.

Did you see the 5 liter jugs at Autozone? It's the peak brand and autozone brands.

Wish mobil 1 came in 5 quart jugs instead of 4.2whatever quarts. Also wish my truck did not take 6.1 quarts to fill...

Well now I wish mobil 1 came in 6.1 quart jugs.

I normally wouldn't fool with the gallon jugs either, but $10.50 for 5qts as opposed to almost $4 a qt can't pass it up.Advance has th GTX gallons for $10.99 with a free hat.WOO hoo

Maybe your plight has to do with your prox to Canada. Down here, you have to watch out, as M1 comes in both four and five quart jugs, depending upon which store you're in. PoopBoyz, and you get 4 quarts; AZ or WM and you get five quarts. Strange, but true. . .

The 5 gal jugs are nice because they are cheaper and you can use the empty bottle to dispose of the used oil with. The only problem is that they are a real pain to pour the oil from.

I don't like the gallon or 5 qt jugs, I'd rather spend a little more and get quarts. Finding old bottles to dispose of waste oil is pretty easy, bleach bottles, work very well for it.

you pour the jug from the opposite side. if you pour with the spout down, it will make a mess, so hold the jug with the spout up top, and it will be easy to pour.

After pouring oil over my engine a couple of times, someone showed me to pour with the jug horizontal (flat), tipping it slightly as you pour. Didn't spil a drop after that.

Long , long time ago some guy "or gal" dreamed up an item they call a funnel. Works great for pouring oil from a 4 or 5 qu jug into your engine.

Funny guy. I use a funnel. Trouble with the big PP jugs is if you pour it out the intutive way (like pouring out of a gallon of milk) the oil "airlocks" and glubs out over a wide pattern, grossly overshooting the funnel. If you pour with the jug flat, it doesn't glub, and the funnel catches it all.

I'm not as bad at it as my wife. She put oil in my truck (don't ask why), and I found about 1/3 of a quart on the engine. Swore she used a funnel and didn't spill a drop until I showed her the large oil slick on the driveway.

Use one of those valves that screw onto the jug. They're available at Walmart for just a few dollars, and they fit many different sizes of jugs (but not all).

Or, hold the jug sideways. It works almost as well as holding it with the spout on the top.

I bought a 2 quart pitcher from WM so I don't try to pour from the jug. My Mazda requires 6 quart to change. I wish they made a 6 quart jug in 5w30 PP

I use a quart oil bottle with a couple inces cut off at the bottom for a funnel works pretty good. The GTX I use in my car is $3.89 per qt.That works out to be $15.56.A gallon jug on sale was $10.99 to good a deal to pass up.The pennzoil being 5qts at $10.50 that works out to $2.10 a qt.Now that I've done the math,I may start using YB in the car.I guess I better not ask witch is the better oil huh?
