Our new ford truck will be coming in soon and I was woundering which oil would be the best to use in this new ford diesel. Would it best to switch to Delo or Mobil truck and suv or will the delo perform just as well?

The truck after broken in will be used to pull a tractor ,horse trailer, and a camper and horse trailer so which oil will be best.

Also what are opinions on napa's filter for the 6.0 which is a wix I presume?

John i am not a expert on the 6.0 PSD but I have heard the HEUI prefer a 30 weight. I would check with some of the PSD Boards.

If it is available the Amsoil HDD 5w30 might be a good choice if you want to go synthetic.

The 10w30 recomendation comes from some 6.0's sometimes experiencing romping when first started cold. Some Romp, some don't. If you have no romps, then any 15w40 will work fine. If it romps, then you need either 10w30 dino or 5w-40 synthetic.

Oh, I'm not saying it doesn't work...just not crazy about the HEUI-'esque system used on the Powerstroke.

Dunno about Ford but Cummins states to not use synthetic until 20k miles. I started with a blend at 15k miles, Exxon Elite XD-3, and now use a homemade blend of 4 qts Mobil 1 T&S and 2 gal of Delvac 1300. I'd increase the amount of Mobil 1 T&S with colder weather.
