Fuel system cleaners, how offten?

Hey knowledge people how offten should i use fuel system cleaners? Since ive used chevron 87 for the life of my 2002 Tacoma 3.4L (47K) and was using redline cleaner every 5K im thinking this maybe alittle over kill. What other products would you recommend that are safe and affective? Im thinking i should use fuel system cleaners at least once a year. Thanks.

I use Chevron fuel cleaner and fuel injector cleaner, usually once every oil change. SOmetimes more if I have been running the cheapo **'s/Costco gas in it alot. THis is on my 04 4.0 4Runner.

I think a fuel conditioner that cleans, lubes, stabilizes, etc is best and should be run continuously. I am using Schaeffer's Neutra 131.

If you're using a good cleaner, every oil change doesn't seem like a bad idea. It makes it easier to remember when its time.

But anyway, I know people who like redline, and Chevron has done alright for me in the past, although the particular version I recall using gets pretty pricey (20oz Techron, fuel system). I also like Seafoam, Lucas, 44k. Don't have much experience with others.

I'm not fond of having to use something every tankful, nor do I have any use for a stabilizer in a car I drive every day. I throw a little Sta-bil in gas cans and mower tanks for the winter.

I agree with TallPaul:

Use a fuel conditioner that cleans, lubes, stabilizes.

Such as FP LC60 or Schaeffer's Neutra 131.

I myself Use FP in all the families autos. {Every other Fill Up}.

Whats wrong with Redline SI-1 ?? It can be used as a maintenance dose if you want. It is an Upper cylinder lube, and a cleaner. It probably stabilizes fuel too. But who cares if you don't store your car anyways??
I wouldn't use a whole bottle every 5,000 miles myself, probably overkill.
