Will get some pictures of it in a few days, he wants me to. It's silver, SE, 4 cylinder auto. Gorgeous car. They traded a 2000 VW Cabrio that was in pretty bad shape in for it. She wanted a Kia Sorento, but between him, me, and her husband, she looked at and loved the fusion, so got it.

Thats awesome, she'll be glad she made that decision. Nice cars I have a buddy that just bought one also

Looking at a Fusion today, it seemed nice. Not enough rear headroom though for a 6 foot person like myself. Also the hood stick turned me off.

Other than that, looked solid.

That's odd because I can sit perfectly comfortably in the back of the fusion (I'm 5'11"). Sure there are plenty of cars with lots of headroom in the back, but for me unless I would be hunched over it wouldn't be a game changer. Besides, how often do you sit in the backseat of your own car? lol

Guys lets talk about the vehicle in the subject line.

I've removed some domestic vs import comments because they don't prove anything here except troll for the other side to respond.

Thanks, Bill

The exterior or what? The interior on the new one is vastly improved (my uncle has a first gen Fusion) and the 4 cylinder gained .2L and 15HP over the previous iteration.

The exterior. I havent seen many new Fusions in person, but they look larger and not as nice in pictures. I love the tail of the 1st gen Fusion.

My M-I-L just got a new 2009 Fusion with the SEL package a few months ago - I took it for a test drive before she bought it and I was impressed. Good fit and finish, nice to drive. I did some online research and they've got a good reputation too.

She's very pleased with hers.

And how is someone commenting that if more people did the same straying off the OP's subject or content? I guess we'll just discuss the subject of the Fusion in a vacuum

. Yeah that Fusion is great compared to not buying a Fusion

Well you could describe that some one was looking for a 4 door car like the Fusion and also looked at Camry, Accord and lets say a Malibu.

Then we could talk about what we like about each car or what we hate. At no point do we need to post about one being made here or there or by this or that. Why? Because all it does is cause you vs them and no one is going to change their minds.

Sadly a few members have to jump into the us vs them or this brand is the only brand worth owning. And they are not afraid to dump on other members.

These members have a choice, either play nice or go home. There needs to be a respect for members here to own whatever they want. The mindset of that someone has a Yugo (for example) so lets post "Yugos stink" comment in a thread is not going to float. (and trust me, it happens)

Thanks, Bill

I don't necessarily but with friends and family 6' and over it is an important criteria. Our 2003 Accord is about the same size overall, I would guess, and has plenty of headroom in the back.

Just an observation.

I'm glad the domestic vs foreign bashing has gone away. It was littered all over this board the past month.

+1

I see more Fusions on the road everyday.

Did it have a sunroof? Because I'm 6'3" and fit into the back seat of the Fusion comfortably.

After seeing all the excitement on Fusion, I jumped on the chance to have a long trip last month in it. Overall, the excitement is valid - it's as good of a car as a Corolla or a Civic on long trips.

It did have a sunroof. Aside from my obvious guess (and oversight) that it reduces headroom, is this true? Because the headliner is lower where the sunroof is but then appears to go up at the back (above the head of the rear occupant).

Might be something to look into.

Although the hood stick is still a huge turn-off for me.
