If I remember correctly,it’s a 2019 Dodge Ram with the V6 Pentastar? I was thinking Rams were all Hemi V8s. It’s got around 15,000 miles on it. He paid $35,000 for it. He’s using it to haul materials for his insulation business. I haven’t had a chance to ride in it yet. Out of curiosity, how good are those trucks?

I like this one...

I had a 2018 Ram 1500 with the Pentastar as a rental in the Bay area for 4-5 days. It ran quite well and would be enough for 75% of truck owners I would guess. Daily driving and hauling anything that should be hauled in the back of a 1/2 ton is easy for that motor.

Really the only thing I can think of that would neccesitate steeping up to the more powerful motors is towing a cargo or travel trailer with heinous amounts of aero drag. That would suck with a Pentastar.

I had a 2017 Ram 1500 quad cab, 4x4 with the pentastar. Bought it used in 2018 with 12K miles on it for $23500. Those were the days. It was an excellent truck. The only reason I traded it in for my 2019 w/hemi was I wanted a crew cab and found a good deal on this particular 2019 a little over a year ago.

I walked the Dodge (he’s a Dodge guy) lot with him one night and the V8’s of the same year and mileage were $50,000+!!😮. I couldn’t believe some of those prices!!

I paid about $35k for my 2019 Classic Tradesman with the v8, but that was right as the lockdowns were hitting last year…. But I have almost 0 options. If his is a higher trim/more options 35k honestly ain’t bad.

That’s a fair price for 15k miles if it’s a DT truck not a classic
I don't know too much about trucks, the only thing I saw badge-wise, it's called a Lone Star edition. He picked me up and we went driving around yesterday, it drives really smooth and solid. Lots of power.

I have a fully loaded 2016 Ram 1500 4x4, the top line Limited model with Hemi. 106k miles, still looks and rides like brand new. No air suspension problems - nothing except exhaust manifold studs broke and that is very common anyhow with these motors. I enjoy the truck a lot. I have 106k miles. I should probably take advantage of the high used car prices now, pocket the cash and drive my 06 Sierra Denali until new car prices come back down.
