ok. some updates;
Replaced fluid in the clutch and bled it. drained and filled the trans with the motorcraft fluid(which didnt smell like normal gear oil?) and changed the oil in the turrent, along with greasing the pivots.
granted, we have under 100 miles on the change and........ its worse.
i drove it around last night and this is what i noticed....
driving around 40-50mph and slowing to a stop sign, put in neutral while coasting to a stop, put clutch in... and no way i can go into 1st. then i try second.... thats not working well either. so after trying multiple combos.... i think i had to slip clutch and force it into a gear.
ok, so maybe its the coasting to a stop. so i then get to the next light and try the same method.... it does it again. so its consistant.
now, next stop, i put it into 2nd as im slowing down. come to a stop and it goes into 1st ok. sometimes... seems shifting to 4th though... works.
seems the kicker is... if you put into neutral. that's when it really messes up.
i tried to find a "trick" that would always work.. but alas, i couldn't in the limited time last night.
i DID confirm that with the rear up, i can put it into 1st without the wheels turning. but, if i put it into neutral(and release clutch), and QUICKLY put it into 1st(using clutch), the wheels will spin a little and then stop(assuming this is the momentum of the box?)
she is driving back to colorado today, left early in the morning from oklahoma, so maybe the oil needs to move around the box? really hate the idea that i might have made it worse? but if i used a gl-4 75-90 like the manual says i can.... i dont see this as the reason?
