Free Fram Orange Can

My friend uses only Castrol 5W30 and a Fram orange can O death every 3000 Miles on his 98 Honda Accord. Has over 150K Miles on the car now. No problems so far. I try to sway him to use Purolater but he has only good results with Frams.
I would not use it,toss it in the trash can.

Oh, for heaven's sake!
I used the orange can of death for years in many different applications as a matter of choice, before I knew any better.
Never had a problem.
While I would not purchase one now, I would certainly use a free Fram without hesitation.
It will work just fine, and it is a shame to simply discard something useful.

I would go to Wal-Mart and pick up the Supertech for $2.50 for 3K oil change. That's what i use for my in-law's cars since they put 1K miles every 3 months.

The Fram PH8316 has a thread-end bypass. It's the one they recommend for the 2.0 DOHC motor found in the Escort and other Fords.

Guess that means 85% of all filters are cheap. So what about those filters using base end bypass valves that just have a metal-to-metal seal between the valve and media element? - ie, WIX & NAPA Gold.

Anybody have any bad UOA's using a Fram filter?
I am not sure is there any improvement on the latest Orange can of death (Extra Guard). Fram recommends 5k miles interval instead of 3k!
