Free Electricity from 7pm to 11pm

I won't mention the kwh rate as it varies but here this plan is 3 cents more a kwh for free electricity from 7pm to 11pm 7 nights a week.

I could really make that work but will stick with my locked in 3 year rate.
How about you?
Too much thinking involved.

I have some results in from Direct Energy with the "free" nights program from 7pm to 11pm 7 nights a week.
They do supply an app to follow your use and to pay bills etc.
They quickly switched me over and this is the fastest switch over I have ever seen. Great!

I dig get lazy and did not go nuts on conservation as I am that way already.
I did not buy anything as everything listed, I already had. I did not wash and dry clothes etc. in the free time.
I probably should do that this month.

What I did do in the "free" time that I usually don't.
*Have 6 house lights on outside but are 10-watt LED
* One 10 watt in a separate garage on a timer
* Two 100-watt air purifiers with UV lights on full blast

* The bad......... Have two old Sun-Heat Infared heaters 1500 watts each set at max in the free time (like running 30–100-watt bulbs)
We have had single digit temps and mostly in the 20-30F mark.
The bonus- the forced air oil heat runs usually 3x and hour and oil is $3.25 a gallon here.

So, the heater runs once and hour in that time slot and often not at all. Those savings would not be figured in as
they are too varied.
* I did watch more tv because work was slower around the holidays. The TV is a very old large projection unit.

Other than this, things were as the usual.
No car charging or anything like that.

The bill was 35% less than last month $$$$ wise....
I have signed up my other house and my brother signed up his.

Someone did. Just because a particular individual doesn't pay doesn't mean no one is paying.

So the good would be to freeze to death ?

How do you figure?
I have oil heat and I figured I would use these 12 year old unused heaters as a supplement only. But if I didn't have this deal I don't like using a 3000 watt heater combo...that is why I never used them except if a heater goes out etc.

Also I would never buy them again.
Too costly and too expensive to operate.

Our electric provider (Cobb EMC - metro-Atlanta cooperative) is a corrupt mixed bag.

They got nailed screwing the owners (a.k.a. us) and now have to pay us back over a 25 year period.

They also have the highest monthly maintenance fees in the state. I pay $30 a month with my plan. Others pay $39. Given that Georgia Power was $10 a month until recently that's pretty much an insane mark-up.

However they do have the lowest rates and boy, do they brag about it to everyone while ignoring that bodyslam of a monthly maintenance fee.

We have a Mitsubishi i-MiEV that only requires a few hours of charging a day. I've calculated that the per mile cost is somewhere between 1.6 cents and 1.8 cents depending on who's driving. We drive it about 8,000 miles a year and will likely save about $1200 this year on fuel.

Our usage isn't particularly high even with an EV in our garage. Rarely does our bill ever get to be more than $100, and 10 years ago when the monthly fee was around $7 to $10 most of our monthly bills were in the $25 to $50 range.

I hate them though. Pure scum. If Georgia Power came knocking on my door with electric service I would light a match, throw it over my shoulder, and quickly walk away.

I guess is some small little way "free" does still exist...Rejoice you cheapskates..lol

Now if I could get free gas for my car from 7-11 my life would be complete...lol

It’s unfortunate that even the cheapest new appliance disallows cave man “power on-off” timers

My old washer and dryer could easily fire right up as soon as it was time the new crap requires a bunch of button pushes, total fail

Purchased the DELTA Pro , portable 220 watt BiFacial solar panel and DELTA Pro smart extra battery . Used the PRO twice with Solar BiFacial Solar panel . The panel reached 250 watts , higher than stated 220 . First use was for fridge , table top PC and modem . 2nd only for fridge .

1st use . Powering ( fridge , etc. ) and unplugged to recharge with solar after power came on .
