I won't mention the kwh rate as it varies but here this plan is 3 cents more a kwh for free electricity from 7pm to 11pm 7 nights a week.

I could really make that work but will stick with my locked in 3 year rate.
How about you?

This is interesting. The only things that'd be particularly easy to control would be laundry (could do all the drying after 7pm), running the dishwasher, and water heating (with a timer, assuming you had an electric water heater). If you had an electric car, this could be some nice, free charging. Otherwise, I'm not sure how much there would be to be saved. In summer, A/C units would still run for much of the day, unless you had some extreme programming. Lights and modern TVs and such are super cheap to run, assuming use of LEDs. And charging other electronics likely doesn't add up to too much money, anyway. It's a good premise but the window is pretty short and the penalty rate is a bit high, IMHO.

I could make it work as most everything i do is at night.
Also with a heat pump you could really heat and cool your place well and it would last hours afterwards..lol

Especially if you like to cook in the evening with electric. Got a bunch of school aged kids with tv's in their bedrooms etc.

But i like to conserve and not use for the sake of just doing so.

The Christmas display people could make it work I'm sure.

I wish I could get that deal. Most of my “heavy“ electrical loads take place during that time period.
A car dealership could make it work too. Here they are turning off the lot lights during late business hours because things are tight.

For those that need to know.
The contract rate is 8 cents a kwh many in other areas of this country would die for.

The free night deal is 11 cents.
One year contract.

My local power company is nearly 10 cents a kwh.. We can shop in MD though. So the 11 cent deal is 1 cent over the basic rate if you do not shop around.

My 3 year rate I locked into awhile ago was under 6.4 cents a kwh.

Spoken like a child.

Here are your exact words from the first comment.

“here this plan is 3 cents more a kwh for free electricity from 7pm to 11pm 7 nights a week.”
That is their advertisement wording not mine. Next...

I work from 4pm to 1am so there would me no real benefit for me unless I was to set the delay timers on like the washing machine or something. I wish more things cooperated with this schedule. There's a lot of phone system and TV system maintenance going on in our area when I want to be watching at like 2-3am.
