last year I had posted about frame rust on my '99 F250, I finally figured out how to post pictures on here so I'll post a few in order to better get your opinions. I email the pics from my phone to my email, then I save them to my flash drive and post them on here. Is there a quicker way to upload pics on here?

This is the drivers side, right behind where the cab meets the bed. Only spot with rust on the whole frame, on both driver and passenger side. Ive applied multiple coats of fluid film, so sorry if the damage is not as clearly visible, the fluid film has held up great.

passenger side, the top of the frame is rusted pretty bad, as you can see here, if I would hit it with a hammer it would flake off, but otherwise solid. Ill try to get pics of the top of the frame tomorrow so you can see how bad it is

As she sits today with 241,080 miles. Bone stock except for cat and muffler delete pipe on the stock exhaust, that ol 7.3 Powerstroke runs and the tranny shifts great. Thats the main reason I'd hate to get rid of it. If the frame does eventually give out, I'd pull the motor and find another truck for it.

Fluid Film it heavily once a year and the frame will most likely live forever. One odd charactoristic of Fluid Film is that it loosens the upper layer of rust over time. I Fluid Filmed a truck with a badly rusted differential yearly for several years. Over about a three year period, the surface rust fell off leaving an odd faceted appearance. The differential looks like a giant golf ball.

You will never replace the lost metal, but, you can stop any further rust cold.

A gallon of Fluid Film per year is way cheaper than a truck payment🙂

Mine is wayyyyy worse than that and I routinely tow 10,000 pounds with it. I'll have to get some pictures of it.

Your box hasn't even collapsed yet!

These are great trucks but man, they rust so bad.

Its only rusty there due to my cousin using it for saltwater fishing. That first brace on the underneath of the bed, as you can see in the pic, is rusted out

That's what I do on my F250. If you don't have a needle scraper use a hand scraper or wire brush. Then treat it with Ospho or some other commercial phosphoric acid rust converter product. Then Fluid Film or primer, undercoating, etc.

Sold my 2002 F-250 last year. It had much worse rust from being parked near salt water much of its life. The buyer knew what he was getting and it was priced accordingly. I would have sold it 4 or 5 years earlier if I had known how bad it was going to be.
