Looks great! I ran those filters on my Honda for several years, and no complaints. The most recent one I cut apart had minor waves on the leaf spring. Nothing alarming on mine, but some others...

Those bumps inside the end cap hole may not allow the spring to seat, and further in the end cap the cone shaped metal looks torn on the edges. The new ones may be worse if they did the adbv does not cover the holes manufacturing technique.

Just being candid, one of the better/best looking current media XG post use anecdotes posted here, and at 7500 miles. Seen many c&p with the media looking 'much' worse at significantly less miles. In my observation of posted anecdotes, 7500 mi the absolute max for current XG. 5/6k mi would be more my comfort level. As for the 20k mile rating,.

Curious the time frame for the interval?

While a flashlight test would have added more info, this one looks like it got the job done. Thanks for c&p.

It was used from April till November on VQ37 engine with 136K miles at the moment
I will try to do the flashlight test and post later

^^^ Did you try really driving the leaf spring down into the end cap to see if it would seal better? Are the areas right under the ears showing any light? If not, then it's down as far into the end cap hole as it's going to go.

I pushed hard as I could using both hands. And it was sitting tight, no wiggling
A tiny line of light was coming out of the both sides where are no ears.

Metal on metal, and this is expected, I don’t believe this is a showstopper as the most of oil is still being filtered using this type of bypass.
