I have a John Deere 1026R with Yanmar diesel. Fram website indicates correct filter is PH6607. Any reason I can't use an ultra in this application?

TG6607 or XG6607 will also work. The Fram 7317 is a larger version of the 6607.

Wix 51356 would be my choice...

3.4 inches long verses 2.7 for the 6607

Look on retail me not dot com for 5% discount code...

But watch the shipping costs...

Funny that's the same FRAM that my Yamaha 350 ATV uses. Haven't had any problems with the normal orange version on it. On my Kubota I chose to just use the OEM filters because I don't change them that often, the cost difference was minimal and I really like my tractor..

I don't change the filter on mine often either. That's the reason I would prefer to use an Ultra because I figured the synthetic media would hold up better than cellulose. I just wasn't sure if there was a reason Fram didn't list the Ultra for that application.
