i have a 7.3 powerstroke diesel pickup and i was getting my motorcraft oil filters from wal mart but they quit selling them. i have john deere equiptment and i was at the dealership and they had filters that would fit my truck that was cheaper than wal mart. i use john deere filters for all my tractors, and my question is who makes john deere filters?

My F150 takes a Motorcraft FL1A and that has the threaded end bypass valve, whereas the John Deere version had the clicker valve in the bottom of the can.

You might look into Purolator Premium Plus. I use it in the FL299 version (L40017) as it has the threaded end bypass. Purolator might have a good filter for your Powerstroke. Advance Auto will order Purolators for you.

Also may want to see if there is a Fleetguard filter for your truck. Fleetguard can be obtained at some John Deere or Case dealers and at truck parts supply stores.
