Free is for me! If they are part of an OC special I screw them on to my beater and run them for 5000 miles. I wouldn't use one on my E-150 or Jeep though, I"ll use either P1 or M1 for them.

If you make the claim, then i expect an example, perhaps just one.

I am not aware of filters without endcaps, if you know of them please let us know !!

Do a search for Toyota or Denso filters and you'll see filters with no end caps. Each pleat is sealed at the ends.

I've cut open a few Toyota filters, and at least the design looks like it would provide a better ADBV seal than a filter with "cardboard" end caps where the ADBV is to seal against the end cap.

What are the endcaps in the photo's ? looks like paper, does not look like metal to me!
I have over the years cut a bunch of Fram filters open and it is not cardboard it looks similad to the material the elements filtering part in made fron but thicker wirh more glue of something I have run T.G.s for I year and 7500 miles and when cut open look great. I worry more about the air filter and intake seal. I'll run any major brand oil filter[ Which ever is on sale ] with out much thought of choice. The majors will rebuild the engine if their oil filter lets loose ,with some offshore off brands you don't know if they cover your engine.

99% >20 microns. Not the same as @20 microns.
I'm sure they filter fine though.
Just sayin'

Interesting, I had no idea there were filters without end caps!!! Learn something everyday!!! thanks for the links!!
The supertech looks like a better filter than the toyota! i would not trust glued ends either. If i had a Toyota i would never run this filter either!!
Thank goodness there are people cutting them open to let us know!!!!
I'll stick to purolator wix or Mobil 1 filters!

Close enough IMO ... probably "hair splitting". A particle at 20.0001 microns is >20 microns.

The center tube looks to have good sealing on this one, unlike the pictures of a Fram center tube on another thread. That was the "ocod" though. I see nothing wrong with this filter myself. It is advertised as quite efficient, and Honda has chosen it, apparently, for their stock parts. I still would buy something else, because something else is cheaper and as good or better.

Probably doesn't matter, but mthey are likely adding up the next standard test particle sizes...25-40 microns.

A poster on another thread noticed this. Did the bypass have screen over it? It appears that it is lying flat and the screen was rounded. I also don't see it in the desription of the TG on the Fram website. Could the makers of the orange can have done away with the screen on the TG?

Yeah, I was hopping to see the metal screen over the filter but this didn't have one. The only difference was metal strip holding the filter cellulose and the silicon ADBV.

Interesting, Fram used to promote the screen over bypass as an added beneficial feature of the TG. I'm thinking they may have 'very quietly' eliminated it. Was always over the exposed coil spring integrated into the leaf spring. Verrry interesting.

Guess the screen wasn't that beneficial after all.
