That's what I'm thinking, most made in Asia filters look very similar at the core and the outside can because they use the same tooling, but the markings on the can and the rest of the construction screams champion labs.

Does Champ Labs use a bypass valve like this one? Think CL uses the same bypass valve design as the Frams.

I can't find any C&P that I can verify are made in China CL filters to compare to but I remember seeing posts several years ago about made in China Champ Labs filters, (maybe it was a Fram for a particular HD diesel application) and I remember them superficially looking more like other made in Asia filters but I can't remember how the BPV/spring situation was.
