FRAM PH10575. significant changes made

The configuration control in the oil filter world isn't like configuration control in the military, lol. In the oil filter world, they could change the design every month and still use the same part number on the filter can.

this is what i love to see for the PH line. E core with metal end caps FTW. only issue remaining is first brands fixing their leaf spring stamping.
I wouldn't mind seeing them using thick fiber end caps like they do in the OEM Honda filters Fram makes. That would help with the leaf spring sealing if they can't get a metal stamper that knows how to stamp a smooth leaf spring anymore.

My take is that there are too many inlet holes here making for a less stable stamping. Even Emmentaler cheese would be jealous. 1/2 that amount would still be overly sufficient.
The main Ecore tradeoff is too large a diameter from the plastic cage design when employed on the small form factor part. You may gain some pleat stability but you loose media area, and filters are already too small these days.

That is an crazy amount of inlet hole area ... Fram probably knows that people will look at that and think it's going to "flow so much better" and then decide to buy it, lol. Kind of like the "twister" inlet holes on the Titaniums.

The Ecore center tube may be the same diameter if they are using the same leaf spring in this new design.

I've come around on felt end caps. Even if a slightly leaking, by nature of it being felt, will allow it to capture more than a smooth surfaced metal end cap with the sized leaking orifice.

If the leaf spring is under decent pressure on the felt end cap, it will form an impression in the end cap; to match the leaf spring, and seal pretty well.
