Fram Endurance every other OCI vs Microgard Select every OCI on Hondas?

The bypass valve color is different depending on what filter model. Fram used different colored valves to indicate what the bypass valve setting is.
It’s supposed to be the same filter in BOTH photos. That’s why I was puzzled…still am.🤷

i would skip the FE for now until first brands gets the wavy leaf spring under control. run a microgard/carquest premium. i’m an advocate for changing oil filters every OCI but if you’d like they will have no issues going for two.

I'm out of the loop on this issue

I have a Fram Ultra I bought in August 3, 2024, would this be affected?

More than likely Yes. But if you happened to run into some 3-4 yr old stock still on the shelves, then maybe not.
If the filter has the sharp louvres in the mid-section rather than small round holes, it's the newer, potentially problematic version.

When you say the mid section, you mean inside the filter itself? Does this mean the filter is pretty much trash?

Yes, that has the louvers visible on the inside. 2 camps. One say they would never use this with the tight louvres and crinkled
leaf spring. Others say they still think they're fine. Though I don't see anyone recommending using them for 15K to 20K miles.
I just want to get a safe 8K to 10K out of them.....if that's possible.
