I see quite a few sprintcar engines using a very large Fram filter. Are these a special racing filter of of better build quality?
Seems to be common these days. Same thing happens on another board I hang out at, if you dare to question a certain individual and his policies in the organization, you are labeled as a basher or as launching a personal attack against the beloved individual, and his supporters will pile on to anyone who dares to speak against the person's policies; kind of like the Borg did in the Star Trek shows -- so we call them Borgs whenever they appear to defend their beloved leader.quote:

I think it was mainly to draw attention. The "Fram supporters" are rare(for good reason), so some may think this board comes across a little unfair.quote:

Sad but true. They are number one in sales and the orange wall of death keeps getting longer in the stores.quote:

Tremo,
It doesn't appear as though Fram has felt any "heat" - they've been peddling those junky Extra Guards for yrs now despite the fact that word of mouth is now Pentium powered.
No kidding. Look who just won reelection. Jeez.quote:

Yeah, all the way to the friggin' bank... You actually think Honeywell gives a flyin' fig about more-or-less 5000 hacksaw wielding wannabe "experts"' collective opinion when the company has a virtual lock on aftermarket filter sales percentage-wise? Wise up. Whatever issues you think you have with the company, or it's products' alleged defects, they do work, they do meet OEM warranty requirements, and engines are not failing wholesale in the field - thin cans, cardboard endcaps, ADBVs, and all.quote:

As long as Fram continues to peddle junk, they'll feel the heat.
You can't possible be talking about Fram, since leaky ADB valves are common and failed filter media and glued joints aren't unheard of. Not a problem for Fram though, because the vast majority of those failures go completely unnoticed by car owners, those that are caught usually don't cause any obvious wear or damage.quote:
