Ford will still take most of the heat AND you would think there would be some random testing occurring somewhere when you are buying hundreds of thousands of anything.

I'm not a Ford "fanboy" but I like them and it's all I happen to own at the moment. Why? Because they have been very good to us.

All Tier 1,2, 3 suppliers are experts in their areas of expertise. They meet with the tier level above them, or with OEM and decide the specs and the features, the level above them negotiates the price, minimum order quantities, delivery schedules, etc and they sign off. Does the maker of the part offer suggestions of how this application could be made better? usually yes, but if the spec's are met, then why would this be needed? it's about meeting the price target.

Having four Ford full frame vehicles in my driveway, I am struggling to justify buying Fords going forward. I have full empathy of design challenges from time to time. Seems like Ford is having more than just occasional design challenges. Something else is going on. My guess is Ford is trying to push the envelope, and cut costs at the same time.

Not relevant to this thread or recall, but my biggest gripe with Ford is the ever changing parts for the same model. I have zero confidence in long term part availability for Fords, as they changes parts so very often. It is frustrating how often I find Ford parts are discontinued.

This is what COVID did. Quality of everything went downhill. Even the most respected names are cutting things.

OEMS also had to seek alternate vendors, which they may not have used before.

In my industry we are using a new pressure switch that is terrible quality and high failure rates.

I have never purchased, nor will I, a Ford. Had a Fusion and an Escape for work. Recalls galore. Brake pads were the dustiest things I have EVER seen. Theres was nothing regarding quality on either of them. Fusion engine blew at 70K. Maintained every 5K. Oil intrusion into cylinder 2. KNown issue, millions of claims, yet they asked my fleet company for 7K to install a short block. Nope........If it had been my car paid for with my money, I wouldn't be responding to this thread because I would be in prison......

I bought a 2025 Ford Transit 350. Better choice than MB Sprinter and a Chrysler whatever. They actually have an OK reputation with folks who actually own them.

I lost big bucks on a piece of garbage F150 with the ten speed transmission. Never again.

Ford ( Found On Road Dead )......I think the Pinto and Tempo were good examples of this....I use to be a Mercury fan ( high end Ford). Had a 1973 Mercury Montego with a 351 Windsor in it. Couldn't kill it. I would wreck the cars, buy another Montego with a 351 Cleveland with a blown oil pump, ( there were plenty of those of those o go around ), and just swap out the engines. Must have done this 5X. I was a kid. Beat the crap out of that Windsor 351. Till one day I smashed a tree so hard, dead center in the front, I couldn't get the engine out. Switched over to Cutty's with the 350 Rockets. That was the last of any Ford I owned. Not surprised by the fuel pump issues. Not gonna knock Ford on this one. There are plenty of other manufacturer's with fuel pump issues.
