Ford, the decision would take me no time at all. In fact Chevy wouldn't even be a fleeting thought.

He's basing that on bias. Lot of that on BITOG. I'm biased, too...alteast I admit it.

I guess I must be the unbiased one here. A tad biased though.

I used to own Ford trucks until I bought one used 2001 Toyota Tundra. It's a nice truck, not bad for Toyota's try in the truck market. I would still buy Ford or even Toyota for my next truck.

No, try again.... GM trucks outsell Ford trucks. Plain and simple.

Point me to the sales data and I will gladly say your right. According to every piece of data I have ever seen your incorrect.

ford was selling over 400,000 superduty pickups during the first part of this decade. that's JUST F-250/F-350's And the F 150 was still out selling those.

Some people just refuse to believe that it is possible... (and yes, I'm right...)

2008 - total sales.

Chevrolet Silverado - 465,065
GMC Sierra - 168,544
Total GM - 633,609

Ford F-series - 515,513

I knew you were right but refrained from posting. Chevy/GMC combined has always outnumbered Ford for as long as I can remember.

It is interesting that GMC truck sales are very similar (small) to Toyota. Whilst Ford and Chevrolet's sales are MUCH higher, with Ford outselling Chevrolet by itself.

Wrong again. I provided data for 2007 AND 2008 (look at the chart).

This happens year after year after year after year.

I provided solid numbers for '07 and '08. How many years do you want...? I've got all the time that you'd like for me to research this.

Not to single out anyone, but this happens everytime that I dare mention the fact that GM sells more trucks than Ford. I guess the marketing claim that "Ford outsells Chevy" really works.

But, mention the statement that "GM outsells Ford" and someone will fall for it, thinking that the statement CAN'T possibly be true. And if you take the time to prove it, they still don't want to believe it. ?????

I don't know.

However, I do know this. I've spent some time in the driver's seat of my best friend's 2004 F-150 Extended Cab 5.4.... and it runs like the cat. converters are stopped up on it. Quite honestly, I was shocked at the difference. It is just flat out "doggy".

Compared to my 5.3, it doesn't have nearly the amount of "get up and go". That 5.4 feels more like my neighbor's 2006 Silverado Extended Cab with a 4.8.

Of course, this is the same Ford that dumped it's exhaust system out on the interstate at 2:30 in the morning, as we were driving home from a Cardinals ball game in St. Louis. Whoops!

Hey guys,
This is all a moot point. Now that the Government owns GM & Chrysler chances are you will not be seeing large vehicles from them in the near future. The only vehicles you're going to see are are government sanctioned s**t boxes. When the government runs any thing, "politically correct" wins out over profitability. They don't need profits, they have your taxes to cover loses. I pray that Ford does not take any government money. Otherwise if we need a full size truck it'll be a Nissan or Toyota.
