GF-4 or WSS-M2C929-A or API SM is the current specification.

That was the Ford's specs for the SL rated, GF-3 5W-30 oil. My wifes 2002 Explorer spec's that. Any quality 5W-30 SL or SM rated oil will satisfy that spec. The new SM rated oil supercede the SL rated oils. Don't sweat it

My ranger requires that I use motor oil that meets: WSS-M2C153-G specs. I have not seen this spec any where. When I type it in google I get a lot of GF-2 oil listed which makes sense because the truck is a 2000. The new spec that I see all the oils meeting is WSS-M2C929-A is that the updated version of my requirments?
