Hello -

I am in the market for a box truck for a small business my wife started last year. A 1998 Ford E350 popped up yesterday and I'm going to take a look at it this afternoon. It looks to be in good shape and the price is right. It has 160k miles.

The current owner purchased it a year ago to move. It has a current inspection and tags, but doubt it's seen much of the road lately.

Is there anything that I should be looking for in particular with these? Is the 2V 5.4 E4OD a good combination? I've read about the spark plug ejection issue. Anything else? Common rust problem areas? etc etc etc?

We'll probably only put 5-10k miles a year on it.

Thanks!

They use them for ambulances here as opposed to a F450 frame for some reason. Constant battle trying to figure out what is the OEM part versus the add on part.

Cut away van is what hes trying to say.

I cant say what to look for, but these things can be found all over as the rental companies dump them. Check EBAY.

Id probably look for a sprinter myself, but the E350 is likely cheap.

Around us, I tend to see a lot more GMC cutaways. I guess that dealer gives better deals?
