It still boggles my mind that there’s enough profit ceiling in something as low priced as an oil filter to make it worth counterfeiting.
Now I can see a Rolex, but an oil filter?

Case in point. MC just opened that door. Remember their oil filters were a steal at under $3. Now they run $9 to $15. They just opened themselves up to the counterfeiters.
Maybe unknowingly...

It's a huge problem for legit filter manufacturing companies. We see millions of dollars of counterfeit product coming in from Asia every year and it's getting worse with Amazon now.
And regarding volumes, that single part number that has been getting ripped off is easily a top 10 part for Fleetguard...we sell millions of those every year.
