I have and USA flag bumper sticker on my car. I would like to put a flag of my country of origin(Malta) on the car as well. Should the American flag be on top or should the flags be side by side. I would imagine USA flag on the left

Since you're using a sticker and not "flying" it I'd suspend most of the rules. Like you wouldn't be expected to light it at night, lower it to half mast when Nancy Reagan dies, etc. However if it starts getting tired looking scrape it off cleanly.

The cutlass ciera international had a whole row of flags, all in a row, none higher.

It's your car (territory), do what you want.

Not sure if this is considered official:

Flag sticker placement should be on the rear of the automobile to the lower left as facing the vehicle, preferable on the bumper. Avoid having any other stickers (bumper stickers) near or above the Flag sticker. If other flag stickers are to be displayed with the American Flag sticker, all are to be lower than the American Flag. When more than two stickers must accompany the American Standard the American Flag may be placed in the Middle of the bumper in a higher position and all other stickers placed lower and distributed on both sides of our nation's emblem.

I don't know anything about the etiquette for such a thing (but Padawan's link seems like the right way to go). I just want to say "thank you" for even asking. You have put way more thought into this than most people would.

No real help here but I'd insist that FADED flags from any country be removed.

I bristle when people display the "pink, grey and blue".

"Patriots" securing a 48 star (their parents bought it) flag to their porch with 2 flower pots resulting in potting soil running down the sides of the flag after a rain drive me nuts. Kira
