Five Guys Burgers and Fries

I agree it is better than Wendy's, which has incidentally recently done something to change their burgers for the worse... They are now quite dry. They also changed the fries which are also not as good as they used to be.

I put Five Guys in the same category as Chipotle. Once and done. I really don't see the point.

Been a while since I've bought a burger and fries and didn't feel a least a little ripped off, somehow. Our last trip to Red Robin was the worst.

I'll give Five Guys a try next time we're in O town..

For a quick burger, they are OK. We have them about once every few months for our junk food day (we have a junk food night where we have pizza, burger or some other mainstream food).

I've eaten at Five Guys twice and both times got a stomach ache.
I do go in from time to time for a Mr Pibb. No one else has it.

From the pictures of the potatoes, that looks to be a very clean store as well. I know everything about this company from opening to closing, every operations and policy. I bet the crew was staring at you and being extremely nice since you took all these pictures, makes you look like a secret shopper.

On the other hand, I agree with a lot of you about five guys. It's nothing that great and it's nothing to really be bent over about. It amazed me how many regulars there were at my store, sometimes everyday. I'm sure some of you are wondering, what type of people come in that I see everyday or on a normal basis? SNOBS. Very few customers were nice. And the ones that were nice dropped MASSIVE tips in the jar.

To sum it up, I wanted to know what you guys thought of this company. Because I never understood why so many people are crazy about it. There are definitely other options out there. Sometimes it got so bust to where people don't have a place to sit, I mean seriously? Are the burgers that good? I never thought they were. I always thought they tasted like a well made rally's burger. They do take care of their employees, depending on what franchise you work for. As far as I know, they're the only fast casual company that gives bonuses to each employee for their performance, some bonuses going as high as $50,000 for each store to divide and no lower than $450. But there are some major gripes about this company that come with the good benefits.

Way too greasy for me. I don't get how I cook a burger and it comes out moist and tasty but not greasy, but I go to a burger place and I just about have to wring it out before I can eat it.

That's odd from Florida.

Everytime I visit Ohio, I've noticed that if I smile and greet a female cashier or waitress, she will give me the "horsehead"...where she juts out her top teeth, flares her nostrils and squints at me. No reply greeting. Not 100% of the time mind you. One gorgeous blonde at Skyline in Fairfield smiled back and returned the greeting. Another rather plain looking brunette at a burger joint in Columbus smiled and returned the greeting. But almost universally I would get "that look".

Seemed like the further north I got, the worse it would get. My dad's mother is from New Hampshire. They wouldn't do the horsehead thing but they would eye you with suspicion.

In southern states, you smile at your waitress or the girl at the counter and greet her, she will return the same. Black, white, Latina....doesn't matter. It's rude to do anything less.

I read somewhere that the northern part of Florida was more like a southern state (ie: Talahassee, Jacksonville) and the southern part of the state is more like a northern state.

The geographic location of the areas that the five guys are placed in are generally high income areas. When we were building out our stores, that was the first thing we looked at. We had to make sure that if we put a store here, they have to have the income to afford the food.

I've been a few times, and it's too greasy. You get way too many fries with the meal and the meat patties are dripping with fat. I realize this may be a marketable attribute for some, but that just doesn't appeal to me. Customer service was good for me. We have two stores in Fayetteville. One is a stand-alone and one is in the food court at the mall. The food quality itself is fine at both, I just don't care for the fat content.

The burgers we got weren't that greasy/fatty/heavy. Fries were damp though.

I'd imagine that drainage on the grill is important...

Women (and people in general) in Ohio are a piece of work IMO lol. There are some good looking women here and a lot of not so good looking but they all think they are the cat's meow and too good for you

. Maybe clique and suspicious of strangers is another way of putting it. I lived in Texas and Ohio. I would have much more friends and dates in Texas than here. In Ohio people will appear to be ignoring you but in reality they are talking up a storm about you behind your back. In Texas everything seemed to be more upfront. I don't really understand the horse look you mentioned

After reviewing the nutritional information and seeing the responses here, I certainly understand why so much of the population is obese, and suffers from obesity and poor food quality health issues. And yet the same people who put this cheap trash into their own mouths will waste a huge amount of money on specialty oils for their automobiles.

There are often some seriously bizarre priorities on this site.

Because it's a social thing ... first burger I had best darn burger in Beirut(wanted to try one), free range all organic from Italy. Sliced potato with skin(locally from the valley) and burgers cast iron grilled on coals.

Sadly burgers here in the US don't rate but again just an opinion!

I don't know what all the fuss is about Five Guys. They opened one here and by the reactions of some, it was like we were hosting the World Series or something.

My daughter and I went a year or so. Burgers are cooked one way, medium well and the fries were abundant.

The toppings seemed fresh, but the burger was nothing to write home about.

I'd rather go to Fuddruckers or someplace where they buy quality beef and are unafraid to cook a rare burger. I can do without abundant fries, so if I'm going to have a burger, it won't be Five Guys.

I do wish we had an In and Out here. The closest is Rallys and it's been years since I've been to one of those.

A college friend of mine is a Manager for a Five Guys in Chicago. I personally don't feel the food is great and there are much better options in the area.

You should become aware of the KISS concept then.

That's what In-N-Out is about.
