I know there have been several thread about what is the mileage on your car? Well what happens in these threads is people start telling stories about there neighbor or sister brothers cousin and such...........

I am most interested in those who have first hand experience with the vehicle being mentioned, that is to say you yourself are the one who had seen the odometer or owned the car.

Motor rebuilds don't count. Also interested to know if anyone credits a particlular brand of oil to taking them to that mark on the odometer.

Highest mileage for me is 118,000 on an oldsmobile, still driving and I only have put 8,000 of those miles on the car, the other 110,000 are all mystery miles to me.

My first car a 1989 chevy cavailer with the 2.0 4 banger. The only oil used from the previous owner a fellow teenager and my self was QS 10W-30 it had 150+K one it, when I served to miss hiting a attractive woman in her twenty's that ran a stop sign. I never saw corn husk fly like that. Hopefully I will never see it again.

170K on my old 1995 Ford Contour. Purchased by me in 1997 with 22K on it.

172K on my 1988 Ford Mustang. Purchased by me in 2001 with 116K on it. This needed a new manual transmission, the old one was grinding going into 2nd.

I used whatever oil in both of these cars.

189,000 on a 1979 Datsun 280ZX. Died of rust.

215,000 on a 1994 Nissan Sentra. Also died of rust.

208,000 (and counting) on a 1991 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L.

184,000 (and counting) on a 1997 Dodge Caravan 2.4L.

175,000 (and counting) on a 1994 Nissan Pickup 2.4L.

All have received 4000-mile oil changes on whatever oil I could afford.

I'll be very disappointed if two of three currently running don't make 300,000.

No rebuilds, so the old Volvo doesn't count. For me that leaves the Neon- took delivery July 31 1997, had 186 miles on the clock. I'll roll 195,000 miles on it tomorrow or Thursday, put 'em all on it myself.

134,000 on my 92 300ZX and counting.
163,000 on my wifes Jeep Cherokee 4.0 and counting.

I don't know most of the oil history of the Z-but it runs extremely strong and uses no oil.

The Jeep has been on synthetics all of it's life until recently when I tried Castrol 10W40 HM and it turned in the best UOA since I've been tracking it.

225,000 on my last 1995 Honda Civic EX and I was original owner over 9 years sold running perfectly. Never a single mechanical repair(except radiator at 150k) to engine just the maintenance stated in the owners manual.

I do not credit any of it to a specific oil/filter as it was dealer/mechanic bulk fill every ~4k miles. I really credit it to easy driving(mostly highway miles) and regular oil changes. I also don't really attribute it being Honda. I think any car lasts as all my parents cars(AMC Eagle, Subaru's, GMC Subarban, Toyota's, Subaru's) did the same on dealer fill every 3-5k miles and were sold around 200k miles without any engine repair.

I am carrying on the traditional of regular oil changes on the 4k interval with dealer dino bulk fill on my two turbo Subaru's (WRX and Legacy GT). If anything happens on these I will think about a synthetic, but at this point I think all modern oil is decent quality (dino or synthetic).

261,000 miles on the 1985 Volvo 245Ti. Engine was never opened. Used only a nominal amount of oil. 10K mile oil changes (kept it short because it was a turbo).

The only thing I did was replace all the suspension parts, the turbo was dead when I bought it, new radiator and just stuff that breaks when you go 1/4 million miles.

Ugly? You bet! Drive good? Like a raped ape.

My wife is driving a '95 Explorer 4.0 v6. 260000 on the odometer. Bought used at 80k, m1 20w-50 since. However, that was we lived in florida. I'm debating between m1 10w-30 or GC this winter. OCI of 3-4 months, which translates to roughly 3-6k miles. Two tranny rebuilds, but the engine hasn't had anything but new spark plugs.

63K and counting which isnt much but everytime i driver her the more i enjoy her company so im hoping that i can get many wonderful miles out of her. Consistant with oil and other maintence so well see. Unless she gets totaled.

1975 VW Rabbit with 289,000 miles - at least half for pizza delivery.

1984 Ford ranger with 184,000 miles

1992 Eagle Summit wagon with 169,000

Currently @ 235,000 miles on my `93 Volvo 240 Wagon. I purchased it 8yrs ago w/ 72,000 miles on it. Its seen a variety of different motor oils(3-4k OCIs), but Maxlife 10W30 has been the mainstay.
This is my 2nd high-mileage Volvo. My 1st was an `83 245 purchased w/32k miles and driven to 225k miles before I sold it to a friend.

185,000-ish currently on my 92 Sentra. I've had it since it was new. I've used Syntec since the factory fill was changed. Im in the middle of an A-RX treatment to stop some leaking (its working!) but this is the first dino in it since it left Tennessee in '91.

186,000 on my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L

Purchased in 1998 with 32,000 mi and done at various quickie lubes (mostly Citgo 10w30 oil used) at 3000mi intervals, until 80,000mi. At that point, I started caring for it myself with 50/50 mixes of 10w30 syn/dino (QS, Pennzoil, and Valvoline at various times) and extended intervals to 4500mi. No engine issues except common leaks at the oil filter adapter (replaced o-rings) and rear main seal (ARX and thicker dino oil slowed it).

At 170,000, I found BITOG and started ARX with Mobil 15w40. Having completed 2 cycles of ARX, I now run Pennz HM 10w40 with an oversized filter and (planned) 5000mi OCI. Definitely hoping for 300,000 on this vehicle.

Bought a 93 Ford Taurus with 53k
Resurfaced a head after a blown gasket @ 180k
Sold @ 296k about 1.5 years ago.
Saw it running around town about 2 months ago.
Would like to see the odometer on it now.

221,xxx on a 1985 Chevy Citation X-11
152,xxx on a 1994 Thunderbird SuperCoupe

Both cars purchased new by me. Citation was probably run on Amalie 10W-30 (too long ago to be exact) w/FRAM filters and 3k OCI (Don't say it...

...I didn't know any better back then). Same for the T-bird except for a switch to Pennzoil towards the end when my local parts jobber stopped carrying Amalie. No oil related issues with either car. Citation was running fine when sold. I still have the T-bird gathering dust in my driveway. Needs brakes...

270k on a '78 Datsun p/up
380+K on a '79 Chevy 3/4 Scottsdale 350 4x4
150k on a '91 Isuzu Rodeo 3.1L
160k (so far) on a '97 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2L

The '85 Toy p/up at 280k doesn't count, has had one rebuild due to headgasket.

All the above vehicles were and still are on original transmissions, two '70's were manual, two Rodeo's were/are auto's.

210,000 on a 1990 Honda Accord 4cyl (2.2? i think) all on PZ dino. Tranny gave out and I decided to buy something else rather than fix the tranny.

Ill probably get to 100k tomorrow (im at 99.98k miles now). I had a 92 sonoma with about 160k miles on it before I sold it and bought an 02.

The 92 sonoma was bought with about 60k miles on it and the oil used was unknown. I only used QS and got 100k miles out of it before selling. Now my 02 had QS up to 75k then I switched to Valvoline maxlife. So far maxlife has been very good for the last 25k miles. Hopefully I will put on another 200k.

144,000 miles on a 1989 Cadillac Sedan Deville with the 4.5L V8.

My dad has owned the car since new and recently passed it down to me. It got "regular" oil changes at Walmart or whichever quickie place was handy. Regular oil changes meant anything from every 3,000 to 5,000 miles or every 6 months to a year, depending on how often he was driving it at the time.

Car still runs very well and doesn't seem to burn any oil. No bad leaks or anything like that. Transmission and all major components are original. The front leather seats were recently resurfaced. Other than that, it's been very hassle-free and just downright reliable. I drive it about 300 miles per week to and from evening classes. It averages about 20MPG.
