I just wanted to share my impressions of the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica after driving it for 3 weeks and going on some long trips.
It was a rental vehicle, paid for by the car insurance company as a temporary replacement vehicle after one of my Odysseys was hit when it was legally parked and required 3 weeks for it's front fender and driver door to be fixed, repainted at the body shop.
The Pacifica was impressive. Infotainment system had a large screen and worked nicely. Air conditioning was ice cold and I mean ice, my hands got so cold on the steering wheel I had to turn it down. The ride/suspension is a perfect blend of comfort + nimble (those 2 attributes are usually mutually exclusive).
The engine was very strong, acceleration was very fast. The vehicle had a smoothness and refinement that felt like a Mercedes Benz. The seats were very comfortable. The external appearance was elegant and in my opinion better looking than any minivan from Honda or Toyota.
My favorite features:
[1] Stow and Go seats for the middle row, which fold under the floor in a 15 second easy procedure.
[2] Gas mileage: 35 MPG on the highway.
The 9 speed automatic transmission always kept RPM's extremely low, 1500 RPM to 1750 RPM at speeds of 65 MPH to 72 MPH.
This yielded highway gas mileage of about 35 MPG actual which is incredible for a minivan.
MPG was calculated the old fashioned way: Calculated by filling up the tank, writing down the odometer on paper, then driving 360 miles, and then filling up the tank again, subtracting the 2 odometer readings to get the distance traveled, and then dividing by the # of gallons of the 2nd fillup. Despite only having a 19 gallon fuel tank, cruising range reported on the dashboard was 460 miles of highway driving.
A few dislikes:
Transmission on rare occasions would have a harsh downshift.
Only had 7 seats (not 8).
Price too expensive: New ones are 60k, while the corresponding Honda or Toyota ones are 10k less at 50k.
Concern about reliability as the Chrysler brand doesn't invoke confidence.
But if money was no object, I could really see myself buying a Pacifica even though I am a loyal Honda Odyssey fan.
Just wanted to share my impressions on this vehicle and ask anyone to respond who own's a Pacifica for their experience with these Pacifica vans (either good or bad). Thanks.
