First Cybertruck imported to the UK

If it’s registered in Albania then it hasn’t been imported into the UK.
The way the article reads is it's only registered in Albania because having a European-based registration allows the owner to DRIVE it in England. There would have to be a time limit though, you'd think. The article also says the owner is going through the process of getting it approved / registered in the UK.

If he is a UK resident then he must register the vehicle in the UK, a non resident can use a vehicle registered in another country for 6 months out of 12 months

Definitely seems like the guy is bending the rules to the maximum

Yeah. In the USA we can't get the audi rs3 hatchback. In theory it can't be that different from the sedan, but Audi never officially certified it for our market. On one hand it's necessarily complicated that every make and model has to be certified. What surprises me from all the years of Top Gear Hammonds, May, and Clarkson all iterate how bureaucratic UK road legislation is that they'd allow a Cybertruck on the roads. Just tape off the sharp edges change the tail lights and eh close enough.
You're not wrong, they have easier fixes than we do to get something federalized there. Here it's a hard and fast 25 year rule unless a company comes in that can get it certified somehow. There was an importer for awhile bringing in Nissan Skylines before the 25 year rule by changing some door reinforcements and crash testing cars to get it federalized.

I remember Clarkson showing a car he imported that he literally used electrical tape on the headlights to cover the up kick in the light beam that would have blinded oncoming traffic since it was designed to be driven on the other side of the road and that helped it pass the lighting standard. That would never fly here.

Whatever you say. Tesla has been a flash in the pan for 10+ years now. 😂

These stupid ugly Cybertrucks are everywhere. Plenty of people disagree with us.
These pieces of crap are sitting in lots all around the assembly plant in Austin rotting because normal people think they're ridiculous overpriced boat anchors, They can't sell most except to the "Hey look at me crowd".

Yet it’s setting records for sales at the price point it’s in. It’s a weird world we live in.

You can bring any vehicle you want into USA with foreign registration. You just have to export it. I believe cyber truck is similar in UK with Albanian plates.

Sales records perhaps in electric pickups (not a lot of competition). And the competition in some cases are cutting way back on production due to lack of interest.
