Today was day three of shootin' off the boom booms. Day one was the big party celebrating the birth of the USA, a celebration of Polish heritage, and a memorial to Pete who is no longer with us. Day three was blowing off what's left over at home.

It was great fun though, and one particular neighbor who has a habit of complaining about everything actually came over to tell us our show was better than Seaside's. Bonus.

Anyone else have some good fun with the sparklies?

You're lucky you weren't arrested.

Municipal fireworks? Tom's River?

We saw a good parade and fireworks. Didn't shoot any of our own though.

The neighbors made an SC trip and came back with a pretty good haul. Lots of projectile fireworks. Our street had about as good of a show as you could get uptown. A lot of fire crackers and other things went down the storm drain too which was pretty cool.

Luckily it takes major indiscretions to upset the HOA and most of the neighbors. The last HOA complaint was due to excessive Chevy Astros/GMC Safaris parked at a particular house. Rather than get rid of the Astros, they were distributed among multiple driveways and the HOA lost interest. I love my neighborhood, especially on holidays involving fireworks.

No fancy municipal professional shows, just the usual leaf bag full of stuff from out of state and a couple few beers. I think it might be fun to do one on the water next year if I can remember to plan ahead for that. Prewiring and all, you know?

I've been shooting them off! Neighbors suck though, have to keep ducking inside to avoid the police that are trying to figure out where their coming from.

To dry here, they even cancled the cities displays. It's so dry you could start a grass fire with a flint and steel. Corns past the curling stage, its dying.

Thunderstorms are rolling in now here. Too bad it isn't out your way jcwit. Dead corn isn't going to be good for the prices of gas or Taco Bell.

No fireworks allowed here for the general public. Gonna put my lawn chair on the front lawn in about 20 minutes to watch the city ones at the park by my house. So much easier than going to downtown SB and dealing with all the people there.

Well I said it was dry and one of my fire buds just got back from a call of a small grass fire from fireworks. Property owners were issued 6 citations, as I understand $1,000 bucks each, think they might get the hint now?

There is a neighborhood outside the city limits that is both upscale enough to afford tons of fireworks, and is near one of the malls which has a major exhibition.

In this neighborhood you literally don't know which direction to look, major fireworks are happening at every clock position around you, pretty much continuously for an hour and a half before the show, and an hour after. This year it seemed like many of the private displays were nearly as good as the public one. And then you see more of the same on the drive back into the city.

It was a good evening!

Nope! They'll be at it again next year, some people really need to lighten up, its a celebration of America's birthday after all.

Yeah....that's real funny. You sound like a model neighbor.

Actually, my brother was finishing up his week long vacation in San Diego all the way from DC and was at the San Diego fireworks. He texted me and sent a picture text late last night/early morning that the fireworks all detonated at once lol.

When I was youngster living near OKC, fireworks were sold on every corner. The grass is always dry there in the Summer. My cousin visiting threw a "jumping jack" fire work in the air and it landed in the tall weeds and started a big grass fire that burnt about 15 acres of grass.

Here, fireworks are sold on the outskirts and for out of state use but people set off fireworks in the city anyway.

Our Fireworks display was nice tonight. It was a good 25 minute show. Which is about what I expected. Too bad the economy is in the dumps, the last Fireworks show I experienced in Maricopa was over 45 minutes.

50K fireworks shot off in 50 minutes here in Bay City, MI. Biggest show in the state. I fell asleep about half way through.
