I always hated the black ugly vanity/lic. plate holder on the front bumper of the Tbird. a few days ago I just went and grabbed it and just pulled hard, and it just came off !!! LOL (ppl had told me you need to remove it from behind the bumper cover, but I thought I might just pull at it - it came clean out)

Then I went and got 4 plastic interior decor pins at Lowe's and they fit really snug into the 4 holes left by the rivets of the vanity plate holder...all looks so clean and smooth and neat now; a bigger difference than I ever imagined.
...cost me like $2-3 bucks I think...

I just need to paint those pins now...but I guess I'll just wait till i get a paint job done which should be in 1 yr or so...

here are before/after pics: (car is a bit dirty)

the holes ARE fixed/filled :)(description in OP).
I just have to paint over the interior decor pins. (they look white on the 2nd pic - that's where the holes WERE)

I'll get a close up pic today - that pic wasn't the best.

Put some LEDs in there, it will look like "night rider" and help you parallel park.

Onmo: yeah I think they should be able to do that - even if they just paint over the deco pins, it'll still look good - esp. when it's black everywhere.

LOL @ eljefino - yeah that's what I am gonna do

..not.

Here's a close up of the decor pins (really dirty bumper - sorry):

Paint those with touch-up paint. Works great. No primer needed:

I did the same when I had a Fusion. These were painted with brush-on touch-up paint:

hey that looks nice.
I know - i can get some touch up paint and do it...but there are already bad faded paint spots appearing on the roof

and within the next year I am gonna get the whole car re-painted, so I might as well just wait - and this color is hard to find anymore in auto parts stores...and pretty $$ online..

Good ol T-birds... Made in my "home town" (my parents lived about 5 minutes from the Ford plant. I drive by it almost every day I'm there) of Lorain Ohio.

some vanity plates can actually look ok - esp. when they are curved and follow the contours of the front bumper and/or have a little "well/recess" that they sit in - but the Tbird's plate was not like that - it just made the whole thing look busy and ugly in the front - esp. with it being a black one against the very light blue background...

UPDATE:
YAY! accidentally saw Scratch-Fixx touch up paint for K1 (Lt denim blue) at O'Reilly's !!! AAP and AZ never had them and I was about to order online (pricey!!!) when I found some today, almost by accident for $6.00

will paint the pins soon and post a pic
