This is for the Saturn S-Series, which has a spin-on A/T filter.

Some filters use six holes through the tapping plate, with three solid tabs:

Others use eight holes, with the tabs a pass-through design:

Makes me wonder about flow differences...

Especially with atf viscosity of sub Sae20.
I have started a car with radiator disconnected and oil filter removed, and the amount of oil came out was significantly more than atf.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you guys are talking about the cooler circuit, not line pressure.

Here's a diagram of the Saturn transmission; notice where the spin-on filter is located.
For some context, in this application:
Engine oil filter (Wix 51348) - 275 PSI burst pressure
Transmission filter (Wix 57101) - 780 PSI burst pressure
