Isn't it just the most amazing coincidence that the real new owners of Chrysler want them to get away from trucks and make more small cars? Funny how that worked out.

The Germans raped Chrysler (yes, that is the correct word here), they sucked their cash reserves dry to revive their own flagging operations, shut down their R&D, starved new design, and "gave" them Daimler's second-tier, earlier generation technology.

All Chrysler was left with by the end was "Hemi" and "german engineering" marketing and retro design.

At the time of that merger, Chrysler should have been buying Daimler, as it was financially the stronger of the two. The long-term work of Iacocca in rebuilding the company was finally starting to bear fruit. Bob Eaton should be drawn and quartered. The whole thing was sickening to watch.
