Feed Ramp gouge on Ruger MKIV target

One of my favorites too. I own the same model, though purchased 30 years ago. I have since bought three or four more variants (anniversary edition, short barrel, threaded barrel), just because I like them. Two I have never even gotten around to shooting. :)
Had an aftermarket trigger (with trigger stop) installed and trigger job performed as well as Millet target sights. I forget where I got the grips.

Rugers are not super sexy but are the "Toyota" of guns...darn reliable and just run and run.

What a beaut she is. Love those grips.
Does that have the chambered round indicator on the port side?

Ive got a never been fired limited edition Bill Ruger signature SS one with the tapered barrel and original " salt cod" box I'll put up when I get back home. (I have no idea why its called a salt cod box)

I prefer the older tapered barrel guns, but Ive never met one of these I didnt like.

No loaded chamber indicator...this was made way before that. I think I bought this new in the mid 1990s.
I also have a tapered barrel 50th anniversary addition in blued finish. Its a safe queen, unfired. Has some of the earlier features, including the red grip insert and no scallops for the bolt, but I guess they have returned to red insert grips based on the OPs example. Bill Ruger had the grips made in black after his partner Alexander Sturm passed in 1951, but returned to red just for the anniversary addition pistols.

I guess Ruger went back to red grip medallions in the 2010s? (searched online)

I had a Ruger Single Six .22 revolver that still had tool marks in the bores of the cylinder. The marks made it difficult to chamber rounds. I called Ruger and told them about the problem, they said it was impossible for the cylinder bores to be unfinished. I sent a couple pictures, to which they replied, "I'll be darn, there are still tool marks." I shipped the gun to them, they polished the bores, and sent be back, all free of charge. I was very impressed with Ruger.
Did you have both the LR and WMR? With mine, the WMR was better made and that’s all I leave in the gun bcs they are far superior …
Cost of the rounds do not matter as I don’t shoot it much.

I have a Mark II Stainless Target that I bought in college. I'll bet you I have run at least 100k rounds through it with zero problems and all original parts. I have ran so many rounds through it in one session that I would lead the barrel. One time so bad that you could barely make out the rifling.

I have a Mark II Gov't model that I bought new around 30 years ago. perfect pistol!
Your gouge looks to be out of the way of the bullet nose.
Does it shear off any lead from the bullet?
