Fedex is on a roll lately -- late deliveries

I've been fighting a delivery for a month now. Today it finally came to fulfillment and I am happy.

I ordered 4 tires from WalMart back in early December. They shipped to me 3 tires of the size I ordered and 1 tire of a completely bogus size. I tried to return it and get a replacement but they said that since the tire didn't match the invoice I couldn't return it. I fought this craziness for two days and finally asked for a refund of the one tire. They refunded me the cost of one tire and told me to keep the incorrect tire. They offered to ship another tire but said it'd be a month before I received it. I needed my tires.

Once I got credit for the wrong tire I placed an order with Discount Tire Direct for one replacement tire. It was in a warehouse about 15 miles from my house and it was expected to be received in two days. I waited and waited and waited....

Here it is - January 05, 2022, and I just now received my tire. It was shipped from Fairburn, Georgia (about 15 miles away) to Ellenwood, Georgia (30 miles away) and then it disappeared. They kept pushing the delivery date back and finally just said that it was pending.

I called and fought the FedEx horrid 1-800 number and probably lost a few years off my life from the stress and never got any satisfaction. Today I was sitting here and got an e-mail that said my tire had been delivered and was signed for so I ran out to see if it was true and... it wasn't. There was no tire and yet FedEx said it was delivered and signed for. I got on the phone again.

While on the phone a FedEx truck pulled up to my garage and this guy jumped out with my tire. OH Happy Day!! He said the tire had been mixed in with a huge (100+ item) tire delivery for Mavis Tires and that is why my tire was unaccounted for and ultimately signed for. He had gone back to Mavis and dug through the entire delivery and found my one little tire and pulled it out of the batch. I am so thankful that one person at FedEx was on the ball today.

I had no idea that FedEx delivered tires to major tire chain stores but I guess they do. I have my tire, my car is up and running with fresh rubber and I have a brand new tire to sell on Facebook marketplace. If anyone would like a Hankook Kinergy ST 185/60R14 tire, brand new and never mounted, let me know. It's for sale... cheap!

In my area....Ground Fed Ex is awful......slow........never the same driver two days in a row

Hahahaha all 3 gave up during the last winter storm. USPS gave up the ghost. I mean NOTHING for 3 weeks. Then word got out you HAVE to go to the post office to get mail and packages. I stood in line for nearly 3 hours. All the socialists here blamed DeJoy of course. Neglecting the fact the USPS cacafest started well before 2020!

In some cases yes pay is low for FedEx and Amazon drivers. One Indy FedEx company was offering min of $900 a week and up to $1,500 a week with full benefit package. Funny thing they got over 400 applications in a week. In some cases you get what you pay for. Some companies still think they can get a body on the cheap. I saw one ad that had me snickering. They wanted three years of delivery service with a box truck and a DOT physical medical card and only wanted to pay $13-$14 an hour. Another one wanted you to use your Van or box truck and they were paying $18 per hour plus mileage rate of .50 per mile. There a few offering around $22-$23 per hour and you used your car for deliveries. Amazon drivers with zero expierence are getting offered $19-$20 plus an hour to start, with safety bonuses coming in at $175-$250 a week and $3,000 to $5,000 sign on bonuses. You could look at first year earnings over $50K if you played you're cards right as they say. The difference between Amazon, FedEx and UPS is UPS is a Union Shop.
