Favorite Every Day Carry Pocket Knife

Do you guys actually use your EDC knife?
Yes, daily. I use it for cutting cardboard, plastic packaging, zip-ties, and fruit mostly. I also use it to sharpen my pencil, trim a fingernail nail if I snag something, open mail, etc. It's also great for cutting various labels off things.

My favorite is a Spyderco Parma3 Lighweight with Aimfront scales. It comes with an SPM SPY27 blade (upgrade over standard). I hemed and hawed about dumping money on the scales, but they transformed the knife for me. It's so solid, yet light.

Second is a Benchmade 561-1 Mini Freek. A real gem (but not cheap)

Honestly, Milwaukee Tanto blade. It's about 10% knife (because it's ALWAYS dull) and 90% pry bar/lever/pusher/scraper (which is why it's always dull). I watch for deep sales at HD because full retail is absurd.

Yup, it’s McGuyvers fault.
I blame MacGyver as well in my case.
Used to carry a Swiss Army knife, but haven't for quite some time. My EDC now is a Benchmade my wife bought me several years ago. Prior to that it was a smaller Sword Brand.
I also blame him for my choice in wearing a brown leather jacket for the past 30+ years.
No mullet or acid wash jeans though.

Para 3 Lightweight for the last few years and love it. Have been carrying Spyderco since I was 17? Mostly Delica models, but have been disappointed in the VG10 steel.

Nice you still have it. The first one I got was an early model that had the spyder edge with plastic belt clip. Opened a ton of boxes for my job at the time. Eventually the plastic clip tension gave out and I lost it someplace. ☹️
The clip on mine is metal and the color was originally all black.

Used my knife several times today. Use it several times nearly every day, while at home (work has some pretty strict rules, and most countries don’t allow knives through security).

Turns out my EDC is much cheaper than I remember. It’s a Gerber Air Ranger. MSRP is $47.

Sharp, holds an edge. Smooth operation. Great knife. So many times each day, I reach for a knife - opening boxes, or packages, cutting tape, whatever. This one is usually there, particularly when I am down in my shop.

I have carried this knife in my pocket for years. It's very robust, foldable, locks open and won't fold until the release is pushed, has a replaceable blade, and was $6. It's surprising how many times I use it every day.

For the last 10 - 12 years, my EDC pocket knife has been a Kershaw Cryo. It's been a good knife. The pocket clip can be moved to either end and either side. I have positioned it so when I pull the knife from my pocket, the knife is already correctly positioned in my hand to open the blade, and use it.

All those years of carrying and use, and the only sign of wear is the finish rubbing off of the pocket clip. The rest of the knife looks near new.

As far as usage, I don't use it as frequently as I used to, now that I'm retired. I used to use it multiple times every day. Now, there are days when I still use it several times, and other days that I don't use it at all. My usage is typically cutting open boxes, cutting cable ties, cutting shrink wrap off a pallet of goods, and such.
