Family of 'Clock Boy' seeks $15 million from city

If he brought his 'clock' near the president or his family he would have been arrested (and probably tackled too).
Our government only takes chances with the lives of regular people.

I think it's a crock of you know what. It was a mistake plain and simple. The school security erred on the side of caution. Had that actually been a bomb, it's kind of a damed if you do and don't situation. The taxpayers don't need this kind of abuse.

So sickening! If I were the judge and they came into my courtroom I'd tell those nasty filthy dirty scammer scumbags to screw themselves and just go home if they're so unhappy here.

Heck,I got sent home when I was in high school because my hair was too long. I'm ready to collect my $15 million.

I agree it's a NONSENSE lawsuit but I'm sure the usual BITOG suspects will claim it's warranted.

This is one of those cases where school officials need to stand up for what's right and tell Akmed the clock maker to screw off! But they won't. They'll roll over and take it in the rear just like the good guys always do...which only serves to embolden idiots like this to keep pulling these stunts...

I was one of those crying foul when this case first came to light. Now I'm skeptical.

Plenty of room to imagine he was intentionally causing trouble. Then again, it's also not a stretch to imagine he was treated worse because of his ethnicity.

As I always say, the question is not whether he was causing trouble. The question is whether the school and the police acted appropriately. Even if they had legitimate grounds for suspicion, that wouldn't settle the question of whether they did right by the Constitution.

That's why I hope the city refuses to pay up so this can go to court.

Hahahahaha

If my child was in that school I'd want the teachers and school security to act exactly like they did given the unknowns at the time and the look of that device no matter who this kid was or what his nationality or religion might be.

Less than a month before this clock deal two teenage kids from Missouri packed up and joined ISIS. Every neighbor and school official interviewed said they were "nice" boys that never caused trouble, the boys were polite and courteous and they never saw this coming.

Why do you think certain groups of people are treated worse because of their ethnicity?

Me too.

Unfortunately, when a kid builds something that looks like a bomb, we have to make sure we only follow up if the kid is not a minority.

I believe the family was looking for this to happen.

Because stereotypes save time.

If your posts are any indication, you're a reasonably smart person. I therefore find it hard to imagine that you're asking this question in good faith. Sorry.

This immediately occurred to me as I was looking at the photos of him visiting with Obama. If anyone tried to get that device into the White House, the response would have been far greater than the school's.

I think you are 100% spot on! The kids father has a bit if a shady side. This was a set up if there ever was one, give them nothing and put them on a terror watch list for their troubles.
