I got a hold of some oil-change labels from my Amsoil dealer to place on my windshield. I wrote the oil-change details with a black sharpie, the ink faded in a matter of a few weeks. First time ive ever had a problem with a sharpie.

Any suggestions for a better UV resistant ink?

Thanks

Get an oil based marker. We use cattle tag markers for about everything for labeling. The ink can withstand a year out in the elements and has held up for everything else so far. You can find them at any farm/fleet store.

I use a dymo label maker, w/ clear tape to print out the oci info on the windshield stickers i pick up from what ever parts store i last recycled my oil at..
print the info on the clear label, place it on the sticker. done.
not had a fade issue yet.(even though it's a thermal printer, and this sits in full sun all day...)

I use the Uniball Vision waterproof Fade proof pens. I tested them out last summer by writing on paper and leaving it out all summer and you could still read them after rain and sun. Plus they keep your checks from being check washed. Office Depot carries them in a variety of colors.
