What kind of marker won't sun-fade?

I take care of the oil changes for all the household vehicles and I have a roll of 500 or so oil change stickers I use.

I've tried normal sharpies, "industrial" sharpies, generic sharpies, the sharpie pens, and even just a ballpoint pen and all of my oil change stickers fade to the point of being unreadable within the month they were put up.

Is there anything else I could use with a more fade-resistant ink?

Four suggestions:
Put the sticker in a place not exposed to sunlight.
Use a spreadsheet instead of a sticker on the car.
Fisher space pen: can write on almost any surface and their ink is quite durable.
How about a paint pen? Paint instead of ink.

Forget about the free rolls of clear stickers and buy Liqui-Moly. I'm starting my own experiment with that tomorrow.

Don't use a marker, use a Fisher Space Pen or a Space Pen cartridge. You can write with it on almost any surface and the ink won't fade for decades.
