Belgian F-16 crashed at Leeuwarden airport.

After starting the engines for a training flight and taxiing to the runway, the engine accelerated by itself. The plane crashed in a hangar but the pilot could get out with the ejection seat. No english videos yet

Well that's not good. Aren't those completely fly-by-wire?
No. The throttle is still an old fashion cable and years ago our USAF had a problem with them sticking. It's what killed a Shaw pilot years ago here in SC. After that incident we had to do regular tensionometer checks on the cable to check for unusual drag. The old cable was replace with a new style.

Isn’t there a fire handle to shut off fuel to the engine? Granted, not as useful in a single engine airplane as it is in a multi engine airplane, but still, shut off should exist…

not sure if that could've still stopped the plane? it didn't go far into the hangar so I suspect the engine was shut off
