ExxonMobil Introduces New High-Mileage Exxon Superflo Motor Oil

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

AutoZone Locations First to Stock Exxon Superflo High-Mileage Motor Oil

ExxonMobil today announced the introduction of Exxon Superflo(TM) High Mileage motor oil designed to protect engines with over 75,000 miles.

Exxon Superflo High Mileage motor oil is designed to provide protection for critical engine parts in higher-mileage vehicles. The new formulation contains performance additives that guard against the formation of sludge and deposits, as well as a seal conditioner to help prevent leaks in older engines.

Exxon Superflo High Mileage is available in three conventional motor oil viscosities: 5W-30, 10W-30
and 10W-40.

"More and more consumers are demanding oils that meet the needs of high mileage vehicles, and Exxon Superflo High Mileage is a motor oil
they can depend on," said Jeff Jones, lubricants product manager, ExxonMobil Lubricants and Specialties. "We're pleased to offer an
Exxon Superflo product that continues to be affordable and dependable."

AutoZone, the first retailer to place the new high mileage engine oil on its shelves, will provide customers with a free quart of Exxon
Superflo High Mileage oil with the purchase four quarts.

The full Exxon Superflo High Mileage product line will first be available at over 3,000 AutoZone retail locations nationwide and later through a wide range of retailers, mass merchandisers, auto parts stores, Exxon service stations, and some Mobil service stations.

You have got to hand it to ExxonMobil. They let some other company establish a new market category and then they come in to compete. It's an old story. Let the price war begin!

It's hard to beat free oil though.

Tenderloin;
Thanks for the information, but does the recent addition of more high performance products from the majors not hurt the chances of Torco Oil making a serious comeback?
Perhaps MobilExxon are saying "Why are we competing with ourselves by selling PAO base stocks to our competition when we can formulate and market the finished product instead?"

Thats what I'm thinking. I think Mobil has the R&D to always be one step ahead of the competition. The Mobil 1 SS is actually old "off the shelf" technology. I'm sure the blueprints could be made already for the next generation of oils years away.

Diesel-rated Mobil 1, hmm.
