Starlink?Yes-just got the notice. But my bill due to lack of competition is $115.00/month.
Can't threatened to cancel when there are zero other high speed options.
They are only increasing *upload* speeds according to this. Uploading is used only ~5% of total internet time (on average), so it costs them nothing to do this. This would be important to VPN users and content creators, but most other people on a residential internet connection won't even notice the difference. This is the email I got
We're on the 100mb plan. I forget what the U/L speed was supposed to be.

Nope, still the same 200/25 speeds, here, that we've had for the past while.
Playstation does not require a static IP. If you're hosting a server, a static IP makes it easier for people to connect to it. But you could also use a free service like DynDNS and avoid the extra fee.Our only internet option where I'm at is Comporium. Were at $89/month for 600/600 fibre. Plus, they charge you $5 if you need a static IP (PlayStation requires it.). Never had to pay that before.
We just need internet, we stream everything.
Thanks. I tried a couple of free ones, but could never get it to work right. It has been probably 5 years, so I can give it a shot.Playstation does not require a static IP. Are you in a coverage area for Verizon LTE/5G Home Internet or T-Mobile 5G Home Internet? You could mention those as competitors to maybe hopefully get a better price.Yes-just got the notice. But my bill due to lack of competition is $115.00/month.

Thanks-but yea T-Mobile doesn't have any more room on their towers right now for Internet. At your suggestion I checked Verizon as well-it's a no.Are you in a coverage area for Verizon LTE/5G Home Internet or T-Mobile 5G Home Internet? Star link could possibly be an option .Starlink?
I see starlink being cute with some $20 congestion fee in most areas.Star link could possibly be an option .
No problem. Just called for my Spectrum today, bill went up to $88 for the 600mb. Argued and finally got it back down to $55/mo, where it was. I was ready to disconnect as I have a Verizon 5G Home Internet as a failover that routinely pumps out 300mb/40-50mb up and thats locked at $35/mo. ISPs are brutal to deal with IMO.Thanks-but yea T-Mobile doesn't have any more room on their towers right now for Internet. At your suggestion I checked Verizon as well-it's a no.
Comcast knows this-hence the pricing.
But thanks for the suggestions.
