All oils are compromises and Castrol GTX is a blend of oil that is strong in it's abilities to hold molecular chains together. Unfortunately in order to do this they sacrifice lubricants, which help with normal wear. That is why my factory VW manual recommends not to use Castrol GTX initially for rebuilds or cam replacements.
This guy seems to think that GTX doesn't do as good a job with normal wear because of what his VW manual says???
