This chart has been on the Briggs & Stratton website for several years. I find their recommendation for regular oil 5W30 to be rather dated. I would think that it would have the same high temperature characteristics as regular 10W30.

We in the US used to have the same recommendations for different oil weights in our manuals until it became a government rule that our manuals contain the recommendation for the same weight of oil that was used to obtain the mps figures used on the window sticker.

Briggs can't make up their mind, this is on a 1980 engine I'm still using... It's currently running 10w30, I'm good...

This year I purchased a new Craftsman riding mower and pressure washer. Both have a chart much like yours. I am using M1 10-30 in both machines.

Similar to me. I am using Rotella T6 5W-40 in the mowers, and pressure washer. I will be using 0W-30/5w30 in the snowblower this winter.

I have ran 5w20 in my one's for years now, probably ten plus years. Not a problem one. I have heavy oil in the water pumps just became they only see above freezing temp, but then again i wouldn't if i didn't have ten plus gallons of hero 40at
