I imagine this must be true, but esters must be better at protecting their carbon bonds, so to speak. In simple terms most esters are naturally already branched.

Being you are the Amsoil BITOG rep, can you tell us what makes Amsoil better in your view or what base oils they are using these days? Some in the past claimed Amsoil was still using diesters while others were using POE's and AN's. At one time Amsoil used to put "Genuine PAO" on the boxes. You can tell by the Noack volatility that the top of the line are Grp IV/V.
