This is to you folks out there that are familiar with the effects of sulfonated ash. I am almost sold on the Esso XD-3 0w30 oil and will probably use that for my next oil change.
Is the relatively higher amount of sulfonated ash (1.49% http://www.imperialoil.ca/Canada-English/Files/Products_Lubes/IOCAENCVLESEsso_Xd-3_extra.pdf ) cause for concern considering that there seems to be a whole slew of other products that boast lower ash levels
( http://www.vtr.org/maintain/oil-overview.html )?
I would be more than happy to use this oil considering that the Esso distributor here in Ottawa quoted me at 3.78/L for this good PAO stuff
Regards,
ajwan
